Regularly voted one of the best bonfires and fireworks displays in Surrey (and even the UK!), Chiddingfold bonfire is a family-friendly evening that benefits the whole community. The bonfire is built over a six-week period by village volunteers and lit on the night by torches from a procession of hundreds that starts around 6:30pm. Local teams provide a beer tent, burgers, mulled wine and a variety of food and drink to fill hungry tummies. The fireworks are set off from a secret location and are choreographed to highlight the beauty of the village. Collectors shaking buckets receive donations to help pay for the fireworks, and all profits are given to local charities and the elderly of the village to spend in the village shops.
