Welcome back to our New Home of the Month series, where we’ll be showcasing fabulous holiday homes from around the world – all of which are available for you to rent through holidaylettings.co.uk. In January, a quirky houseboat in Amsterdam got everyone considering a trip to the Netherlands, but this month it’s an impressive villa with stunning views of the Adriatic which came out top.
Ever thought about taking the whole family with you on holiday but struggled to find the right rental? The stunning ‘Villa Lina’ is the answer to your prayers.
Completed in July 2015, Villa Lina is one of Croatia’s hottest holiday homes. Perched above the picturesque village of Spitska on Brač Island, it offers unrivalled views of the beautiful Adriatic Sea as well as the utmost privacy.
You’ll enjoy using the private terrace, taking a dip in the immaculate pool and admiring the breathtaking scenery. It’s so spacious that you might feel as though you have a whole holiday complex to yourself!
In the main part of the building, there’s an open-plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room on the first floor, with stylish French windows to let the cooling breeze into the house. The entire floor has been tastefully decorated, with clean whites and earthy tones throughout. Modern art enthusiasts will appreciate the quirky piece which separates the dining area from the cosier living room.
The upper floor consists of three large double bedrooms, each with a pristine en-suite. There’s also a laundry room upstairs and even a gym (perfect for topping up your fitness levels during your stay).
But for those of you who prefer your holidays more frivolous, two of the double bedrooms come with their own balconies, and one even has three-person Jacuzzi! Imagine unwinding in it with a loved one at the end of a day. Why not make it even more bubbly and take a bottle of champagne along too?
On the other side of the villa, there’s a second apartment, with its own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. It’s ideal for a couple looking for a bit of privacy or an independent teenager who likes their own space.
The sophisticated four-bedroom villa was built with families or group travel in mind and comprises two self-contained apartments. It’s the ideal holiday home for friends or an extended family.
Villa Lina is also blessed with plenty of outdoor space: a pool you can actually swim in, an expansive terrace and garden, too.
In the evening, imagine crowding round this roaring fireplace and looking at the reflection of the stars on the calm Adriatic.
Rugged Brač may be Dalmatia’s largest island, but it remains one of the Adriatic’s hidden gems. While celebrities sail their yachts to places like Hvar and Korcula, Brač Island has managed to keep its traditional charms. If you like beaches, visit Bol. Its pebbly beach points into the Adriatic and attracts thousands of swimmers and water-sport junkies during the summer months.
Enjoy scuba diving? Brač’s peaceful, rocky shorelines make it a great place for aqua adventuring. Also, the olive oil on the island is among the best in the world, due to its particular type of olive tree.
Its dramatic shorelines, eye-catching settlements and beautiful olive plantations make the Dalmatian coast extremely popular with tourists.
Just a short ferry ride from Brač is Split, a gorgeous coastal city bursting with terracotta-roofed buildings and ancient stone walls. Here, you’ll find culture to meet every need: bars, bistros, coffee houses, shops, museums, places of historic interest… You name it, Split has it.
